The Goped ESR-750(EX) is one of the best constructed scooters on the market at any price. There is little chance of anything falling off or getting loose. The ESR-750 requires the front brake be attached by the customer. This was such an easy process that even I did it easily and quickly.

Every ESR-750 is tested by QA before leaving the factory here in the good old USA.

The ESR-750(EX) has a single front disc brake that has excellent stopping power for panics stops or safe descents down steep hills. The brake is effective, but not so harsh as to throw one over the steering column.

The ESR-750 has an on/off switch (Kill switch) on the handle bar.

The ESR-750(EX) has no built-in lighting or horn, but is compatible with most bicycle accessories.

The Goped ESR-750(EX) is one of the fastest electric scooters on the market. It has a top speed of around 18 mph for a 225 lb rider and 20 mph for a 180 lb rider. It has excellent acceleration and reaches top speed quickly.

Only the eGO2(LX) is significantly faster than the ESR-750 of all the scooters under $1500.

When running the ESR-750 in turbo mode the range one would get was less than spectacular. The range in 'economy' mode was acceptable.

The ESR-750EX has acceptable range in 'turbo' mode and superior range in 'economy' mode for such a small scooter.

The ESR-750EX did 8 miles (on the flat) in turbo mode with a 225 lb rider, and 12 miles in 'economy' mode.

The ESR-750EX can climb hills at least up to 16% with a 235 lb rider. (It hasn't been tested on 17%)

The ESR-750EX is one of the best hill climbing scooter under $1500 in cost.

The ESR-750 in 'turbo' mode will maintain 12-15 mph speeds on steep hills and never appears to be struggling. This is with a 235 lb rider.

Suitability

When the concept of the PEV (Personal Electric Vehicle) first surface, the ESR-750 is what I envisioned it to be. It is portable enough to be used in conjunction with rail type mass transit. It can be kept in a closet, yet has 20 mph speed, worries not about hilly terrain and has a safe 5 miles round trip range and twice that if one can charge at destination before returning.

The ESR-750 is suitable for almost any short range transport needs.

Reliability
The ESR-750 has been out that long, but one only has to look at the design to realized that it basically won't fail on any level. All components are 'husky' and there are built-in protection circuitry that doesn't limit the rider (cutting off all time) yet kicks in when things have been pushed 'passed' reasonable performance expectations. other than the batteries, and tires, I don't think anything will go wrong on a ESR-750 for years.

Support
The ESR-750 is made by Patmont Motors, the inventor and maker of the Goped. They have a massive dealer setup for local support and will go the last mile for their customers.

Price-Value Ratio

The ESR-750 sells on the net for around $799. people will raise an eyebrow because of the size of the ESR-750. For some reason Americans seem to think bigger is better. The more you spend the bigger the scooter should be.

The ESR-750 competes with 'premium', larger size scooter very well on speed, hill climbing ability and it doesn't have the huge batteries of the premium but it does have good range. Since it costs $300-$400 less than the premiums I think it is a very good deal.
