The Xtreme X-500 does 'not' use the strongest components or the thickest metals, etc, but it has been designed and constructed very adequately, and is cost less than $300!

It features dual disk brakes which stop the scooter very effectively, even when going down steep hills.

The steering column and seat post are not the most robust looking pieces, but they handled my 225 lbs weight with no incidents. I never felt like something was going to break.

The tires are the same type of thick wide tires used on the BladeZ, so flats won't likely be a problem.

The XTreme X-500 has no built-in lighting or horn, but is compatible with most bicycle accessories.

Full Throttle Range

The Xtreme X-500 passed the hill climbing requirement of completing a 4.5 mile route that included a 1.5 block 11% grade and a 1 block 12-13% grade hill. The X-500 barely made it up the 13% grade with a 225 lb rider but it made it! This is unprecedented for a machine costing under $400.

On grades of 1 - 6% the X-500 climbs almost as fast as being on the flat.

In comparison to current e-scooters the Xtreme X-500 ranks a tad below the HCF-707 ($599) and Rad2GO E-10 ($439).

The Xtreme X-500 has very good speed. It has about 16-17 mph speed with a 225 lb rider and 18+ mph speed with a 170 lb rider.

The X-500 has a somewhat delayed controller ramp-up so you do not get to top speed in a hurry. In fact if you try and do a quick start by turning the throttle wide open you do not accelerate as fast as if you gradually let the speed build.

The speed of the X-500 is very close to the last Rad2GO E-36 I tested. It is not as fast as the ESR-750 or the larger premium scooters. It has about the same speed as the Pukka, but the X-500 has a more husky motor and controller.

The X-500 has the speed one could hope for in an under $300 package

The Xtreme X-500 has about 9 miles range running at full throttle on a basically flat route with a 220 lb rider. If you coast more (The X-500 free-wheels very nicely) and drive at less than full throttle all the time it probably has an confident range of about 10 miles for people weighing 220 lbs or less.

This puts the X-500 ahead of the E-36, HCF-707, and ESR-750 (in Turbo Mode) for for range ...not bad for $300!

Suitability

The Xtreme X-500 fulfills its purpose of providing low cost efficient, yet peppy transportation for commuting and errand running up to about 5 miles.

It fold quickly and the seat post comes out quickly for easy transport. It fairly heavy but should be easily managed by almost any rider.

Reliability
I don't know how reliable a sub $300 scooter should be and I don't know how well the X-500 will hold up. I can say that given the straight forward design and powerful motor and chain drive system, that very little is likely to go wrong with the Xtreme X-500.

Support

Xtreme is definitely a big time eBAY/web seller. Xtreme, however, has been around for a while and has always stated that they were in it for the long haul.

They actually give a owners manual for the scooter and a min tool kit. They have responded to my emails, but I don't know how well others are treated.

Until I hear otherwise, I will 'conditional pass' them for support.

Price-Value Ratio

This is a no brainer. The Xtreme X-500 is the best bargain on the market!

Comments: At electric-scooter-world.com when don't talk much about fit-n-finish, style, or even riding comfort to a large degree. We concentrate on over the road performance. Please, therefore, note the following:

The Xtreme X-500 is not built with the robust parts and frame of scooters like the ERS-750, E-36, HCF-707, Pukka, E-10, etc. It has a fairly hard ride over bumps. It is built well for the materials that are used, and a lot of thinking seems to have gone into getting the important things at an acceptable level.

I don't know how long the X-500 will hold-up under regular use .. time will tell. I don't want anyone to think that when they buy a X-500 they are getting a premium quality scooter like a HCF-707, or, an ESR-750(EX, Sport). What you will get, however, is a relatively portable scooter that has superior speed and hill climbing ability, and excellent range for such a small package.

You can't do better for $300, than an Xtreme X-500.
