The eGO2 is an excellent constructed scooter. It requires the user to install the steering column and seat upon unpacking. This process takes between 10-20 minutes on average. The eGO2 has street equipment for safe day and night riding with a large headlight a super bright tail/brake light. The eGO2 also has a bell. The eGO2 has large 20" by 2" tires with excellent road tread that provide a very stable ride. The eGO2 has a front disk brake, a linear-pull rear band brake, and regenerative braking. The combination gives the eGO2 the most effective brakes of any scooter $1500 or less. The eGO2 has a front suspension system and a suspension seat post as an option. |

Performance Speed
Full Throttle Range
Hill Climbing Ability |
\ The eGO2 is the fastest electric scooters on the market under $1500. It has a top speed of around 21 mph for a 225 lb rider and 23 mph for a 180 lb rider. It has superior acceleration and reaches top speed very quickly.
We have done many full throttle test of the eGO2 and the results vary slightly with the brand an d state of the battery. On the average the eGO2 will get 14 miles full throttle on the flat with a 225 lb rider.
The eGO2 climbs hills up to about 12% without any significant reduction in speed (10-20%). It can climb hills up to 15% at about half speed, but without apparent struggle. Its maximum limit is around 16-17% depending on the weight of the rider and the length of the hill. The eGO2 is one of the best hill climbers of all scooters under $1500 in cost. |

Suitability |
The eGO2 is an electric moped and is best suited to used accordingly. It is moped size (20" wheels, 130 lb weight) and it has an maximum speed near 25 mph. It can carry a load of groceries, tools, packages, etc and even has a towing trailer as an option. If can commute safely about 15 miles round trip without charging and twice that is one can charge at work/destination before returning. You have to be creative if one lives in a 'walkup' apartment. (The batteries can be removed and taken up one at a time for charging), as the eGO2 is best suited where one can charge without going up a lot of stairs. |

Reliability |
There have been user reports of problems with the eGO over the last 4-5 years but as a whole the eGOs have been one of the most reliable and durable electric scooters on the market. personally purchased a used neglected 2002 model (one of the ones with various noises and potential problems) and used it as the basis for the certification process. It screeches makes noises, etc but has been solid as a rock. I have over 5,000 miles on eGOs and have had virtually no significant problems. I know the eGO has not been perfect in the pass, but it has been very...very good! The current eGo are even better! | *Certification Passed |
Support |
The support by egovehicles.com for the EGO2(LX) is excellent! That's the long and short of it! | *Certification Passed |
Price-Value Ratio |
The eGO2 is not cheap at $1199, but it is cheaper than many gas mopeds and will give less trouble and offer comparable performance (except for range of course) . The eGO2 is also at least equal to the other two premium class electric scooter on the market and has a longer track record. I say the price-value ration is excellent. |
